Meet Your CiC Representatives

The Conveyancing Improvement Collective will be spearheaded by our ten experienced professionals within the Conveyancing profession, representing firms of all shapes and sizes. However, we want to hear from all Conveyancers with comments, suggestions and questions when tackling our objectives.

Rob, a former residential property conveyancer with over 50 years of experience, founded Bold Legal Group (BLG) in 2010. Now with around 600 member firms across England and Wales, BLG is respected by regulators, lenders, HMLR, and government bodies. Members benefit from weekly bulletins, an active Q&A forum, and CPD-accredited training. BLG keeps firms informed on key issues including fraud alerts, new HMLR practice notes, SDLT changes (Tax Advisers), leasehold reform, consultations, new case law, and much more, and is highly regarded by lenders, PII providers and others.

Vicki Redman is a Senior Associate at Swiitch, by Shoosmiths, and Head of Learning, Quality and Compliance, with over 27 years’ experience in the conveyancing industry. She is the creator and founder of GRACE (Guidance for Raising Appropriate Conveyancing Enquiries), a recognised initiative aimed at raising standards and reducing unnecessary enquiries across the sector. Vicki has worked with Government on Building Safety Act related issues affecting conveyancing and is a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing and Land Law Committee, supporting wider industry improvement and reform.

Marc Lansdell is the Managing Director of Evolve Law, a firm he built on the belief that technology should enhance and not replace the human side of property law. Marc is passionate about doing things the right way: investing in his team’s growth through professional development, supporting staff through CLC qualifications, and utilising the smart use of technology to free up lawyers to focus on what matters most — clear advice and exceptional client service.

I qualified as a solicitor in 1990, and established my own practice, dealing exclusively with residential conveyancing in April 2000. I don’t do all types of conveyancing as I am conscious that conveyancing is a highly specialised area of practice. In October 2025, I was appointed Co-Chair of the Law Society Conveyancing and Land Law Committee. I am the joint author of the CQS Tool Kit and sit on the Editorial Board of the Law Society Conveyancing Handbook. My claim to conveyancing fame? I advised the BBC on a story line about stamp duty in The Archers. And I have run the London Marathon!

Bishopsgate Law is a fast growing forward thinking SRA regulated firm providing a variety of services to clients including residential and commercial conveyancing, property law disputes and wills and probate. With a background in technical conveyancing as well as drafting department wide policies and procedures Nicola Maskell is a Senior Solicitor at Bishopsgate Law. Having over 25 years conveyancing experience across a variety of firms including Shoosmiths and the Simplify group  as well as High Street firms and a spell as a Consultant, Nicola has extensive management experience along with in depth residential conveyancing technical knowledge.

Ed is Director of Compliance and Operations at Leadenhall Law Group, with overall responsibility for regulatory governance, risk management and the operational performance of the firm.

He works closely with the legal and client service teams to ensure transactions are delivered within a robust compliance framework while maintaining efficiency and clarity for clients. His focus is on building systems and processes that support both regulatory integrity and a consistently smooth client experience.

With a background in senior legal leadership predominantly within large Private Equity backed specialist residential conveyancing firms, Ed has extensive experience overseeing quality assurance, audit readiness and the implementation of effective internal controls within heavily regulated conveyancing environments. He takes a pragmatic approach to compliance – viewing it not as an administrative burden, but as the foundation for consistency, reliability and trust.
